George's Cycles has served the Boise area cycling community for over 50 years! With a focus on everything with two wheels, we cater to many cyclists and people wanting to become cyclists. We have extensive knowledge and a veteran staff versed in all disciplines. George's Cycles is looking for a positive, self-motivated, team focused individual with a willingness to help where needed. Communication and customer service skills are a core focus for our shop and are a driving force for our success.
As the warm weather approaches so does the busy season for biking, and we'll be looking to fill multiple positions.
Service Manager - State Street
We're currently looking for an experienced individual to fill the position of Service Manager at our State Street Location. This is a full-time position that requires extensive bicycle knowledge as well as management experience.

Mechanic - Both Locations
We are seeking an individual that has an extensive knowledge of the bicycle, and/or willingness to learn more in-depth services and procedures. We work on every kind of bike, including e-bikes, trikes, and the occasional unicycle. Ability to multitask in a high energy, fast-paced environment is a must. We have an organized service shop utilizing Lightspeed POS to manage our workflow. Wages are competitive and based on experience. We are looking for you to join our highly skilled and professional team!
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Detailed and extensive knowledge of bicycles of all types, parts, tools, service techniques and parts compatibility
- Ability to inspect bikes through testing, and determine the adequate repairs needed
- Attention to detail and efficient and tidy work ethic
- Ability to work in a fast paced work environment as part of a team
- Ability to talk to customers in a friendly and open manner, efficiently assess and diagnose their bicycle concerns and explain the repair service to the customer in an easy manner
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues to the highest standard
- Perform basic maintenance on all types of bikes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- A minimum of 1-3 year’s previous experience working in the service department in the cycling industry
- Extensive knowledge of high end mountain and road bikes, as well as the tools required to service such bikes
- Comfortable working with all types of hydraulic components
- Positive attitude and self-motivated
- Follow processes to completion
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
Schedule: Negotiable Monday – Sunday, 40 hours/week
Compensation – Competitive, relative to experience.
Salesperson - Both Locations
We are looking for a passionate, experienced individual to work as a full-time or part-time salesperson in our professional bike shop! Specifically, we are looking for an individual with lots of experience in the cycling industry, and comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment. Experience is preferred not required, we are willing to train the right candidate and bring them on board with in-house training and access to decades of cycling knowledge!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interact with customers and provide exemplary customer service
- Provide professional advice about bicycles, bicycle accessories and clothing, and any other cycling related products in the store
- Timely response to customer phone calls and inquiries
- Execute cash/credit transactions accurately
- Cash register and retail POS knowledge and accuracy
- Weekly job list
- Maintain organized and clean work environment
- Maintain all supplier training certifications
- Keep up to date with knowledge on the bike industry
- Contribute to team effort in order to achieve all goals and maintain a positive store atmosphere and work environment
